Prescription Preservation: The Cure for Ailing Communities
The Young Preservationists Association of Pittsburgh is excited about our Preservation Month Celebration, “Prescription Preservation: The Cure for Ailing Communities,” which will take place on Monday, May 22nd, from 6-8 p.m. at the James Gallery.
I strongly encourage you to register in advance for the event so we have an accurate head count. You can register online at http://www.youngpreservationists.org/. And tell some friends!
We are grateful for our sponsors: PNC Bank (lead), Citizens Bank, Dollar Bank, National City Bank, Neighborhood Housing Services, Fifth Third Bank, Mr. Michael McSorley, Sky Bank, and Desmone Associates Architects. Thank you!
At the event, YPA will be unveiling its 2006 Top Ten List, announcing our second-annual “Promise Award” to an emerging preservationist, and hearing a keynote address by Dr. Robbie Ali, MD, director of the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Healthy Environments and Communities.
In addition, there will be wonderful food catered by Dorian’s Catering, raffle prizes (the James Gallery has donated a lovely framed photograph), and a tour of the West End by the West Pittsburgh Partnership. Each person who attends will get a full-color copy of YPA’s 2006 Top Ten report and a special party favor.
Lastly, YPA will get 10% of the sales of every piece of art sold at the gallery that evening–a huge incentive for YPA to encourage lots of people to buy art!
