—————–
The next community information-sharing meeting for the Peebles Square development project will be held on Tuesday, February 13 @ 7:00 PM. It will again be held at the Church of the Nazarene, located at 300 Peebles Street .
This should be an interesting meeting- we will be reviewing the proposed plans for the project including the site plan, and even some prototype floor plans and design styles. There is still an important decision to be made regarding the possibility of phasing the development into two stages. Also, the proposed plans may require some variances from the Wilkinsburg zoning laws. If the community feels that the proposed plan would be a strong benefit to the neighborhood, it may be helpful if some community members show support. This project also has a social aspect, in that the homes will be sold to the future owners below cost. While the owners must still qualify for a mortgage, the program is intended to help lower and moderate income families and individuals become homeowners.
Community feedback is critical to the success of this development, so please tell a neighbor.

GPPNA is planning to host a Meet and Greet with the local candidates for our community. We plan to invite all candidates for Pittsburgh City Council District 9, and the Mayoral candidates, prior to the primaries. In Pittsburgh, which is overwhelmingly democratic, the real election tends to actually happen at the primaries.
This is a good opportunity to actually get some face time with the candidates. This meeting will be open to the public, and we will specifically be reaching out to invite those from the closer parts of council district 9 in Regent Square, Park Place, North and South Point Breeze, and potentially East Liberty.
More details will be following on the format and confirmed candidates.
