City Council Delays Vote for Two More Weeks

Today’s scheduled vote regarding the rezoning for the residential lots on East End and South Braddock for Walgreens was delayed at the request of Twanda Carlisle for two weeks.

The hearing should be on TV tonight, more details to follow.

It will be imperative that as many people as possible call each council member over the next two weeks.

Council woman Carlisle's office called to inform me the vote was delayed due to her unavailability for September 6th.]

Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 10am, Pittsburgh City Council has scheduled a preliminary vote on the rezoning request from Walgreens developers. Peebles Square Update

Last night, Hosanna House, Action Housing, and the Community Design Center held a meeting regarding a development proposal for Peebles Square. Peebles Square is the area bordered by Penn, Trenton, Peebles and South- with large parcels of abandoned and vacant property.

City Council Delays Vote on Rezoning Park Place for Walgreens

City Council has decided to delay any decision on rezoning Park Place residences to accommodate Walgreens. The stated intention being that Walgreens should be working more closely with the community to try and address the issues brought forth by the many community members who showed up at the public hearing. To that end, Twanda Carlisle promised to initiate and facilitate continued discussions with representatives from the community organization.
