Park Place Picnic – Help Wanted!

Starting  this morning, there are fliers for the Park Place Picnic (coming up next Sunday!) on Abbie Evans’ front porch with a sign-up sheet listing streets that need the fliers distributed.  Please take some time to help publicize this annual Park Place event – you could do a street while you walk the dog!  Abbie’s porch is conveniently located at 7708 Abbott Street along with the rest of her house.  And don’t forget to come to the picnic on June 1^st starting at 1:00.

 

Security System Sales from Bob Kubiak

I doubt I was the only person in our neighborhood who was visited by a door-to-door security system salesman from APX recently. While he was likely legitimate (and not just someone posing as a salesman to try to glean information about my security system for nefarious purposes), the tactics used by APX are misleading. They misrepresent themselves as offering a "free upgrade" on behalf of whatever security company you already happen to have (by reading signs or stickers on your house/property). Then they try to sell you additional equipment or modifications and, most importantly, switch you away from your own monitoring company and over to a contract for their own monitoring service. Missing Dog
